Ruby Zoisite (Anyolite) is a naturally occurring metamorphic rock. It features a high-contrast matrix consisting of vibrant, earthy green Zoisite heavily speckled with opaque, magenta-to-red Ruby inclusions. Black spots or veining, which are hornblende (pargasite) minerals, are often scattered throughout. The stone exhibits a unique physical quirk: it has a dual-hardness. The ruby inclusions rank a 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, while the green zoisite surrounding them is significantly softer at 6 to 6.5.
In the tradition, ruby zoisite is associated with steadiness of feeling — with bringing heart and head into balance — and is treasured as a stone of optimism.
Care and Maintenance
Because a single bead contains minerals of vastly different hardness levels, Ruby Zoisite requires specific handling to prevent structural damage.
-
Cleaning: Wash using only lukewarm water, a single drop of mild dish soap, and a soft microfiber cloth. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
-
Avoid Machines: Never put this stone in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. The intense vibrations and heat can cause the stone to fracture or cleave along the boundaries where the soft zoisite meets the hard ruby.
-
Chemical Protection: The softer zoisite is porous enough to be damaged by harsh chemicals. Remove the bracelet before swimming in chlorine, applying cosmetics, spraying perfume, or using household cleaning agents.
-
Storage: Store the bracelet flat inside a dedicated soft cloth pouch. It must be isolated from harder jewelry (like diamonds or topaz) that will scratch the green zoisite, and away from softer jewelry (like pearls or turquoise) that the exposed ruby inclusions could easily scratch.

Care
Routine: Practice "First Out, Last In." Put your piece on last (after makeup, perfume, and lotions) and take it off first when returning home.
Protection: Avoid contact with sharp tools or abrasive materials, hard surfaces (like countertops), and other stones to prevent scratches and chips.
Daily Cleaning: Wipe regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove body oils and dust.
Deep Cleaning: Occasionally wash with lukewarm, soapy water (using mild dish soap). Rinse well and dry with a soft towel. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners.
Storage: Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box so stones cannot knock against each other.
Shipping and returns
Ships from California. Return the piece undamaged within 30 days of delivery. We cover return shipping, and refund within 5–10 business days after we've received and checked it.
How to measure your wrist
Wrap a soft tape measure, or a strip of paper, around your wrist just below the bone and mark where it meets. Add about half an inch to that measurement for a comfortable fit.
The record
This stone, in particular.
Color, translucency and texture are what separate one stone from the next. Everything below was noted from this piece — not from the style, and not from a catalog.
In the tradition
What these stones have long stood for.
In feng shui tradition, stones are paired with the person who wears them and with the year they were born. We describe the tradition because customers ask about it; we make no claim about what a stone will do.
